Temporary Yield Signs at Magdalene & Taylorcrest Intersection – Residents may notice temporary yield signs at the intersection of Magdalene and Taylorcrest. These yield signs have been installed strictly as a short-term safety precaution and are NOT permanent.
The temporary yield signs are implemented in coordination with the City of Hedwig Village’s ongoing roadway construction efforts in the area. Per the project contractor, the signs are intended to remain in place only until the pedestrian crossing system is reactivated. The signs are expected to be in place for four (4) weeks, after which the they will be removed and normal traffic operations will be restored.
Construction activities associated with this City of Hedwig Village project, including concrete pours and roadway operations, are expected to continue over the next several weeks. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and exercise caution in construction zones.
Trash & Recycling Collection – The City is aware of an increase in reports of missed trash and recycling collections by Texas Pride crews. City staff is actively working with Texas Pride representatives to address this matter and minimize service disruptions as quickly as possible.
Important collection reminders:
- Place carts curbside before 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
- For back door service, carts must be visible from the street and not behind a closed or locked gate.
- Collection typically occurs between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Occasional service delays may happen due to inclement weather or other factors. Please allow until 6:00 p.m. for pickup to occur. If your trash or recycling has not been collected by 6:00 p.m., contact City Hall the next business day at 713-467-9762 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. - Once a missed collection is reported, City staff will notify Texas Pride and request service. Texas Pride is responsible for dispatching crews to complete missed pickups. While staff will continue to follow up and make every effort to ensure a timely response by Texas Pride crews, we cannot provide a specific timeframe for when missed collections will be completed.
